THE "FX" GRADE OF HOT FOIL
The "FX" grade is a well-established premium matt pigment foil which is particularly suited for high speed coding of information on products and packaging during the production process. The resulting print is highly resistant to rubbing, scuffing and chemicals which makes it ideally suited for critically important data. This foil's deep black colour makes it easily visible on most substrates and is best suited for food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical packaging.
This grade has been designed to work on a range of different hot foil coders and printers including these brands: Allen Coding, Kortho and Preston (Overprint), Metronic, Norwood and Open Date.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Classed as non-toxic and meets stringent legislation of numerous industry standards
- Low working temperature enables dwell times to be reduced to a minimum without affecting the foil's excellent print quality
- Withstands boiling and freezing temperatures, making it suitable for any environment temperature
SUBSTRATES
The "FX" foils perform best when on the following substrates:
- Films - Cellophane, Cellulose, metalized, Nylon, OPP, PE, PET
- Papers - Coated, Uncoated, Synthetics

Operating temperatures of 75°c minimum (dependent on machine type and application parameters).
Foils should NOT be stored in direct sunlight and should avoid extreme temperatures and humidity as well as unnecessary pressure on the rolls. You can expect a 12-month storage life under the ideal conditions noted here: 5-25°c and 30-60% relative humidity.
Measurements taken of the foils size should allow for a tolerance of ±1%
Compatibility - All of our "FX" grade foils are compatible with a wide range of foil coders including: Allen Coding, Kortho and Preston (Overprint), Metronic, Norwood and Open Date.
